NEW PUB VENUE FOR THE FIRST FRIDAY OF THE MONTH

The big news this month (November 2003)is that the decision has been made, after a lot of thought and some fact-finding, that we should change the venue for the Pub Night.

This once-a-month event – a laid back “casserole de culture” – continues to please existing members, as well as serving as an excellent “point of first contact” for people who are new on the scene.

However, the previous venue (a large, heaving, touristy pub) sometimes left people scratching their heads and wondering if it was quite in keeping with the charms normally associated with Paris. So, change your diaries – no longer will you trek to Bercy/Cour St Emilion once a month.

The new venue, EDEN PARK, is right in the heart of the St Germain des Prés/St Sulpice area and – as the name suggests – has a theme explicitly linked to New Zealand. (With all due respect to our parochial Cantabrian friends and Wellington’s cake-tin aficionados, “Eden Park” in Auckland is the epicentre of NZ rugby. Everybody knows that.)
